Evict Your Darlings: Banish dotfiles from your home directory

I’ve been playing around with the fairly popular Erase Your Darlings setup and thought I could take it a step further and have an even cleaner system layout by removing dotfiles from $HOME entirely. Here’s what I came up with: https://r.je/evict-your-darlings

It is very much proof of concept and has the potential to break some things but works well in my experience!

That’s pretty interesting. It sounds appealing. Are the tangible benefits beyond aesthetic?

I had guessed that it would eliminate the need for home-manager, which it proceeded to use extensively.

I wouldn’t mind using just the system config. It would greatly simplify things.
