Hi everyone,

I’m Hashaam Khan, and I just joined this amazing community! I’m excited to start contributing and learning from all of you.

A special hello to my mentor! @peterhoeg I really appreciate your guidance and look forward to learning from your experience.

I’d love to get started, so if there are any beginner-friendly issues or contribution guidelines, please point me in the right direction. Looking forward to collaborating and making meaningful contributions!

Take a look at issues marked “good first bug” or “trivial”.

For example, this issue about migrating NixOS tests to use a new syntax (kind of): what needs to be done is well explained, there’s just a lot do.

Also, In a few weeks I think, there will start a coordinated effort to fix broken packages before the next NixOS release. That is a good way to get started.

On that note, there a tracking issue about packages that have been broken by the gcc 13 → 14 migration

Zero Hydra Failures “ZHF” is a campaign to fix as much as we can ahead of the stable release (like NixOS 25.05 - schedule), while we hold back on large changes, but fixes are of course always welcome.
