Following the recent Supply Chain Security panel at NixCon and further discussions aside from that, we’re organizing a focused summit for people actively engaged in roughly one of the following areas (related buzzwords/keywords in parentheses).
- Image-based NixOS (systemd-repart, systemd-sysupdate, DDI)
- Supply chain security (SBOM, build provenance, reproducible builds)
- Boot integrity (Secure Boot, Measured Boot, interpreter-less approaches to any of
stage 1
/activation
/networking
/user management
/ etc…)
We are not planning to have presentations or talks, but are focusing on a chance to get together, discuss and work through shared challenges in a collaborative setting.
The summit will take place in Berlin close to the subway station “Nauener Platz”, on the day before All-Systems-Go, i.e. 2025-09-29. Exact time and location will follow.
This announcement comes on such short notice because we got the idea for this just after NixCon and wanted to make use of the fact that some people working in the above areas are visiting ASG. Should there be any follow-up event similar to this, it should definitely come with a much earlier announcement.
Due to this short notice announcement and limited availability of suitable spaces, we can only accommodate 8 participants this time. If you’re directly involved in work related to any of the topics above and would like to take part, please add yourself to this pad. If you cannot make it this time, but would like to participate in such an event in the future, let us know in the pad or here.
