Hi all,
I’m a software developer and consultant based in Alberta, Canada, with a focus on build reproducibility, CI/CD pipeline optimization, and developer toolchain automation. I have room for part-time contract work in my evenings and thought here would be good to find teams who actually care about those things. I’m particularly interested in projects that push my skills further, whether it’s getting deeper into Nix internals, more complex Hydra setups, or Rust in systems I haven’t encountered yet.
What I work on:
-
Nix-based CI pipelines (including Hydra), builds that are reproducible, cacheable, and fast
-
NixOS system configuration and deployment (bare metal and embedded targets)
-
Virtualized testing via
nixosTestand ephemeral VM testbeds -
Embedded Linux development and testing, I currently use Nix professionally
-
Rust development
-
Developer toolchain automation and DevOps for firmware/embedded teams
Who I’m a good fit for:
Teams using or adopting Nix who want someone who can hit the ground running, no ramp-up needed on the Nix mental model. Particularly well-suited for firmware, embedded Linux, or DevOps-heavy work.
Availability:
I’m targeting roughly up to 20 hours per week on a part-time basis alongside existing commitments. I’m flexible on scheduling and can accommodate European time zones — available outside of 7 AM–5 PM MST.
