Hello,
I am a member of the GLF OS project, a gaming-oriented distribution based on NixOS.
We have removed most of the NixOS logos from our distribution to avoid any trademark issues, but the default Nix wallpaper remains. We thought we would keep it as a nod to NixOS.
So I would like to know if this is legal and does not cause any problems for the team. It would not be the default wallpaper for the OS, but would remain available in the wallpaper choices.
Thank you in advance.

Hi, the nix logo and all it’s variants from the NixOS/branding repository are under CC BY 4.0 (GitHub - NixOS/branding: The home of the NixOS branding guide and media kit.), and you can find details about the other file (source fonts) on the readme.
The last 2 release logo (Warbler, Xantusia) are free for anyone to use
If you are using any wallpaper from the nixos/artwork repository, you can find the license and attribution in the following file: nixos-artwork/CONTRIBUTORS.md at 9d2cdedd73d64a068214482902adea3d02783ba8 · NixOS/nixos-artwork · GitHub but it is either CC BY-SA 4.0 or CC 0.
