Hey all.
I’ve been using Grimmory (and previously Booklore) for a while. I love it, and it’s worked pretty good as a compose2nix authored Podman service for me. I saw the other day that a project Nix Podman Stacks now supports that out of the box. It seems pretty cool!
But I figured it would be nicer, and maybe interest some people to have it as a package, flake, and module. I’ve developed one here with assistance from an LLM. I understand and have read the code though, and there were a couple choices worth noting:
- This requires a password file for the database. I’m used to sops and I see password files for a lot of services so I thought it would be a good idea to require one.
- Grimmory looks for a MariaDB instance locally on port
3306and the nixos module useslib.mkDefaultfor setting both the bind-address and the port if you choose thedatabase.createLocallyoption for the service (this defaults to true) - Out of the box this has no reverse proxy or tls config, I leave it up to the users to deal with that.
Always open to thoughts and critiques.
