There are a couple of hundreds of open PR by the bot, but most of them have no comments or reviews. Several of them a few weeks old.
Are people supposed to comment, review them? Or committers just merge them because the bot report is good enough?

A lot of them don’t get comments or review because there are so many and we’re always short on reviewers. So reviews are always appreciated, and it definitely gives committers more confidence to merge.
It’s especially helpful for bumps with important dependers, or when there are failures in the bot report, or when the package needs testing on platforms like macOS that the bot hasn’t tested on. Even beyond that, it’s always good to have a pair of human eyes on the PR, even if it’s just a “LGTM”.
