Installation fails due to cache.nixos.org connection issues

Hello everyone,

I am trying to install NixOS, but the installation process completely fails because the installer cannot reach cache.nixos.org to fetch the required binaries.

Additionally, the main website nixos.org and its subdomains are completely inaccessible and refuse to load for me.

Just to clarify: I am not located in a sanctioned or restricted region where access could be officially blocked. It seems to be a routing, DNS, or VPN (Fastly) issue on the network level between my ISP and NixOS infrastructure.

Is there a known workaround for this during the installation process? For example, can I temporarily bypass the binary cache or use a mirror?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My go-to is the TUNA mirror, if Fastly is really the issue:
