I am considering buying a Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 laptop and want to install NixOS. It has an AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 6850H processor and the 16-inch screen that I am looking for. Currently, it is selling at a huge discount where I live.
I have been running an older Lenovo IdeaPad since 2019, and I have experienced plenty of issues with crashes and a trackpad that is working far from great. So I want to avoid the same issues with the new laptop I buy.
I have checked the hardware that other people use on github.com/NixOS/hardware and it does not seem that anyone is running the Z16 model.
I would like to know if anyone has actual real-world experience of running NixOS on a Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 and if you have encountered any hardware issues. I know that ThinkPads have fairly good Linux support; however, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 seems different from the normal ThinkPad with a glass trackpad and other differences.
