Logs out to display manager despite removing it

Hi!

I installed NixOS with XFCE to test the waters some time ago, but soon decided to remove it in favor of just XMonad. Despite having removed all mentions of XFCE or anything related to a display manager, XFCE still shows up if I log out using the ordinary key bindings for XMonad (XFCE login screen + sets the wallpaper). How would that be possible?

I expect to be logged out the tty screen.

How could anything linger that is not in the configuration?

Realized I might be able to figure it out from the repl, and I did see that config.services.xserver.displayManager.lightdm was enabled (it’s not mentioned in my configuration). Isn’t that a bit weird?

EDIT: apparently not: reddit question
