Hello, I’m not particularly active here, or in any other nix community for that matter.
For the past almost 5 years I’ve been working at Metacraft Labs, and for 3.5 of those 5 years, I’ve been working with Nix extensively. Whether it’s: packaging our internal software, the software we release, or software we make use of; making service modules; making and deploying desktop and server configurations; making a CI which uses nix-eval-jobs to get a package list and then checks them with cachix and build only those that need to be build; and lots of refactoring.
Unfortunately, I’ve been let go, as has in fact half of the company.
My linkedin, and examples of my work (it’s also worth looking at the PRs, as a number of them have yet to be merged): https://www.linkedin.com/in/monyarm/
(This one was made for Metacraft (PetarKirov is a colleague, and he asked me to make a bodge solution (that would later be fixed up, but later never came) to help get dlang projects building))
I also have this personal project made with Nix, though I only just started it, and it’s in the midst of a refactor.
So, ya, I’m looking for a job, preferably remote or located in Bulgaria (though that seems unlikely).
Well, I don’t drink beer, but I wouldn’t be against meeting up and getting drinks with someone who uses nix. Maybe talk about projects we’re working on and cool things we’ve seen. I’m currently trying to get nix working on android as a magisk module.
Sorry about the delay! Absolutely, that sounds like fun! Maybe Hristo Georgiev would be interested as well since he gave a talk on Nix for OpenFest 2025. I can send him an email.
Sure, give a time and place to meet up, and I can probably make it. I don’t generally have many plans during the week, and my weekend plans are flexible.
