We have a wiki endorsed by the NixOS foundation now, and while it still contains many pages just copied from the old one, some pages are maintained better, and the overall wiki and layout itself is clearly maintained better with more modern software driving it.
It’s continuing to lose the page ranking war, though; IME for many searches it’s not even on the first page of results, let alone on top.
While I understand that modern SEO doesn’t revolve around page rankings as much anymore, I imagine that all the references from this discourse are driving a lot of traffic to the old wiki nonetheless, and this is likely factoring into the equation somewhere. New links are added every day.
They also add bonus fluff to posts because people have to manually point out the inadvisable information source.
Can discourse automatically substitute links, like it does to e.g. replace GitHub file links with their respective permalinks? Is there anything else that might help?
