Are there something closer to junior positions, while still remote?
The only way to learn nix on industry level is to work in industry, but to work in industry - you need to know nix on industry level…
I started part-time remote consulting (at Niteo, thank you, @zupo!) during university without any industry experience under my belt, and at least personally I haven’t seen much of a difference between industry level Nix and Nix as an everyday user. The scales and use cases might be different, but underneath it’s still the same old Nix language, builders and commands. Perhaps the best testimony of this is my Nix Hour, which is perhaps the best summary of everything I know about Nix, but I don’t think I’ve ever talked about anything particularly industrial 
So regardless where you got your Nixperience from, I recommend just trying and seeing if it works out!
