Dear NixOS community,
It is with deep personal regret that I have to inform you that I am departing from the NixOS Steering Committee, effective immediately. In spring of this year I was faced with deep mental health issues that prevented me from effectively carrying out my duties in the SC. I haven’t been participating in SC meetings and discussions since April.
My sincere hope was that my health would improve in the span of a few months but unfortunately it did not. My deepest regret is that I should have taken this step much sooner. My commitment to the SC wasn’t the only part of my life that I neglected. The whole situation clouded my judgment on the matter.
As you might have noticed, I have still been sporadically contributing to NixOS related projects and nixpkgs maintenance in the last few months. Writing code and solving technical challenges is still my happy place. I will continue to contribute to NixOS for the foreseeable future.
I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to serve on the SC. I apologize to everyone that voted for me and entrusted me to represent them in the SC. I wish you all the best for the continued success of the NixOS project.
