New pendant merchandise - Gauging interest

@Aleksanaa and I have been working with vendors on Alibaba to source new merchandise. These are similar to the necklaces she mentioned in I ordered some customized NixOS logo necklaces, but there are a few differences.

  • They are 31mm tall instead of the previous 26mm.
  • They use enamel or an enamel-like equivalent to color the logo.
  • The base metal will be either stainless steel or zinc alloy depending on the vendor.
  • There are now keychains and pins available including necklaces.

The first batch of samples have come in from one of the vendors. I’d like to make these available for future conferences but want to gauge people’s interest. I’ll be creating a poll below.

Poll to gauge interest

While I do want both the pin and the keychain, there’s a possibility I may not afford them due to international shipping fees and possible customs headaches here in the Philippines.

Yeah the shipping fees can be prohibitive depending on where you live. It cost me $40 USD to ship samples to my house. The vendors are in China so hopefully the cost to ship to the Philippines is less. My plan to buy a bulk order for Southern California. Are there any other users near you thar are interested?

sorry for the crazy necro bump but did you ever work out if this would be feasible? this has been sitting in the back of my mind since I saw this and I would looooove to get a nixos keychain for by backpack

Hey @taciturnaxolotl

We ran a single batch order. They were available at the last NixCon in Switzerland. They may return at the next NixCon in Poland.
