NixOS Plasma iso graphical installer stuck at an underscore

Hi, my system specs:
Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G with Vega 8 graphics
8GiB DC ram

I am running into a static underscore after booting into the Plasma iso (using Ventoy) and selecting the first option. After a short blurb of boot information, it displays an underscore and never shows a GUI

I have tried to use a TTY and it is possible to switch, however running sudo systemctl start display-manager does not do anything. I checked using systemctl status and a display-manager service was in the output. The top also said “State: degraded” “Failed: 1 units”.

I would much preferably not have to go through a manual install, as it is my first time trying NixOS. Thank you!

Strange, this doesnt happen if i choose the GNOME install. Someone please check on this

Yeah, the plasma installer iso has been semi-broken for years now, not sure why.

I have had this issue 2 weeks ago. But last week it worked for me when I downloaded the new version :

nixos-gnome-24.11.710050.62c435d93bf0-x86_64-linux.iso

Maybe something to do with the new nix supporting UEFI something (which I read in the changelog)

i had the same problem a few days ago. i can’t remember exactly, but via one of the sub-items in the quirks/troubleshooting sub-menu i was able to boot into the graphical installer in KDE.
