NixOS wont recognize other computers and other computers wont recognize nix os

Hello there

I have two computers one with windows 11 and one with nix-os

I use Local send (https://localsend.org/) to share files between them and synergy (Synergy - Share one mouse & keyboard across computers) to share one keyboard and mouse between them. Back when I used pop-os this worked fine but now that I use nix os these two programs don’t recognise the windows pc and the windows pc doesnt recognize the nix os pc. I have no idea why. They both use static IP addresses and the nix os computers hostname is “nixos” and the windows computers hostname is “littleboy” as the windows computer is smaller. in my configuration.nix i set networking.firewall.enable = false; and networking.useDHCP = false; and the issue persists

Have you ruled out your router? Could be that changing your hostname means that some firewall rules there no longer apply, or something.

I dont think so because I set all my firewall rules based on IP addresses and the IP is still the same as when I used pop os as the ip address is linked to the mac address so that if the mac address is the same the ip address is the same

It would appear your firewall is not in fact disabled. Uncomment the networking.firewall.enable line.
