Just a quick update this time. Since our previous update:
-
We have re‐established the connection with GitHub in collaboration with the board, and are waiting to hear from the point of contact.
-
We have approved and implemented, in collaboration with the CI team, two extensions to the Nixpkgs merge bot:
We have also continued discussing the trusted maintainers idea and worked on a draft reference implementation of one possible form building on this work. We intend to iterate further on the procedures and propose a detailed design document for community feedback.
-
By request, we have given an opinion on retroactive reviews and handling of compiler warnings.
-
We have initiated discussions with the RFC Steering Committee and the Nixpkgs committer delegation team about Nixpkgs processes and the improvements we’d like to make.
As announced before, K900 is stepping down from the Nixpkgs core team due to his election to the Steering Committee. We will continue temporarily as a three‐person team, pending finalization of the procedures for our membership outlined last time.
As always, please reach out to us if there’s anything you’d like to talk about. We’ll continue engaging in our existing discussions and reaching out to people in the project, and look forward to hearing from the new Steering Committee.
