Nvidia driver 470 works with 26.05 / 6.18.34. Luck?

My desktop has a GT 730, so limited to the 470 driver (unless switched to using nouveau of course).

I expected trouble when upgrading to 26.05 if the kernel was also upgraded, but it seems fine so far.

Is this just luck, or are we running patched drivers, like: https://github.com/joanbm/nvidia-470xx-linux-mainline ?

If NixOS is not using patched 470 drivers, should it be?

So nixpkgs has the patches that that one has in common with the AUR package.
