Outdated Winetricks Package

I’ve been using NixOS for gaming for some time now with very little problems. When paired with Jovian I’ve found it to be really great, but my problem currently is the Mod Organizer 2 Linux Installer isn’t working and after a bit of poking around I realized the problem is almost certainly with WineTrick. The current version 20260125, while the NixOs unstable channel has 20250102. A version more than a year out of date. I’ve never been able to figure out how to use Flakes (and I’ve tried), so I’m not sure what to do here. I feel like the NixOS package should be updated, as I doubt I’m the only one who might want to use, but I’d have literally no idea how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

In case anyone asks why I’m not using Limo, which is natively written for Linux: I can’t get Limo to work well with New Vegas. FNV is kind of a particularly finicky beast and I can only get simple texture swap mods to work with that manager for whatever reason, whereas I’ve never had serious problems with the MO2 Linux installer, having previously used it on NixOS as well as on my SteamDeck using SteamOS.

FYI about winetricks part:

The update for winetricks should land on unstable quite soonish. EDIT: it has landed on unstable.

See the links below, one is the PR updating and the other a tracker on which channels the change has already landed.

It works now. I had to retry it a few times, but it’s working fine now. Or seems to be.
