Wondering if there is any interest on “porting” WolfStack to Nix?
I’m interested in running it in a Nix homelab, but have very limited (read “no” :D) development experience.
WolfStack — One Binary. Your Entire Infrastructure.
Kind of ticks the right boxes, Open source and free for personal use.
Searching Wolf, WolfStack or WolfScale in Discourse or Nix Wiki didn’t bring up any posts or pages.

So, there’s really two questions to ask here:
With regards to the first:
If we look at the project github, it’s a Rust project with some various JS and other odds-and-ends, so it’s absolutely reasonable to package it with Nix. You would upstream a module, or you could make a flake for it–or, more realistically, have a clanker draft up a flake.
(The flake approach is probably the lowest-friction, gives you better iteration time, and helps you figure out the question I’m about to go into.)
With regards to the second:
Where things get a little weirder is that WolfStack is definitely something that looks like a more click-opsy way of managing a system; more proxmox than nixos, if you get my drift. From a cursory examination of the docs and marketing stuff, it looks like the two philosophies would probably fight each other a decent amount–you don’t want your control plane to not be informed by your nix config, and vice versa.
So, at least from me, no interest in porting it at this time, but I wish you luck if you decide to pursue it.
