Typographer is an optional feature of the markdown-it engine used by Discourse.
Use typography rules to improve readability of text: replace straight quotes ’ with curly quotes ’, ™ with symbol, – with emdash –, etc
Especially the curly quotes often break code and config snippets shared on discourse.
The option to disable this is enable_markdown_typographer.

Well, at least it only applies outside things marked as code. On the other hand, not sure if it’s doing anything nice enough to be worth changing the code snippets that people forget to mark as code.

I do not care for typographer being active or not, poeple should just using codeblocks when sharing code…
We need to fix the poeple on this, not the tools.
