Neither of these are my PRs, but I have an interest in seeing one of them merged, as Git Credential Manager is somewhat important/useful for enterprise use cases, and it works with wincred even under WSL. An earlier attempt which came up recently elsewhere on Discourse (looks like it has the most fixups and might be the most tested):
