I still have a fond place in my heart for expect. Very excited to have 64 bit addressing!
master ← randomizedcoder:expect9
opened 03:59AM - 16 Feb 26 UTC
Expect 5.45.4 built against Tcl 9.0. - The primary advantage is 64 bit addressin… g from TCL 9.0
This adds a new `expect9` package that provides Expect compiled against Tcl 9.0, alongside the existing `expect` package (Tcl 8.6).
**Tcl 9 compatibility required:**
- Channel driver update to TCL_CHANNEL_VERSION_5 (tcl9-channel.patch)
- Function signatures: int objc -> Tcl_Size objc (tcl9-size.patch)
- Compatibility header for removed macros (_ANSI_ARGS_, CONST*, etc.)
- Tcl_EvalTokens wrapper using Tcl_EvalTokensStandard
- Fix Tcl_Size parameters to prevent stack buffer overflow
**Testing performed:**
- All 29 upstream tests pass (tests/all.tcl)
- Basic spawn/send/expect functionality verified
- Regex pattern matching verified (this was particularly sensitive to Tcl_Size changes)

Either **download from the cache**:
```
nix-store -r /nix/store/53kza1mr03c0jmpv4c8ghy6fi9a2z0gm-virglrenderer-1.3.0 \
--option binary-caches 'https://cache.nixos.org/ https://nixpkgs-update-cache.nix-community.org/' \
'
```
(The nixpkgs-update cache is only trusted for this store-path realization.)
For the cached download to work, your user must be in the `trusted-users` list or you can use `sudo` since root is effectively trusted.
Or, **build yourself**:
```
nix-build -A virglrenderer https://github.com/r-ryantm/nixpkgs/archive/20a79525c6917f0469b5c187819b3b8cc8fc0209.tar.gz
```
Or:
```
nix build github:r-ryantm/nixpkgs/20a79525c6917f0469b5c187819b3b8cc8fc0209#virglrenderer
```
After you've downloaded or built it, look at the files and if there are any, run the binaries:
```
ls -la /nix/store/53kza1mr03c0jmpv4c8ghy6fi9a2z0gm-virglrenderer-1.3.0
ls -la /nix/store/53kza1mr03c0jmpv4c8ghy6fi9a2z0gm-virglrenderer-1.3.0/bin
```

### Pre-merge build results
We have automatically built all packages that will get rebuilt due to
this change.
This gives evidence on whether the upgrade will break dependent packages.
Note sometimes packages show up as _failed to build_ independent of the
change, simply because they are already broken on the target branch.

master ← M0streng0:jelu-service
opened 12:55PM - 22 Dec 25 UTC
This PR introduces [Jelu](https://github.com/bayang/jelu), a self-hosted read an… d to-read list book tracker (a "personal Goodreads").
This PR includes:
1. **The Package**: `pkgs/by-name/je/jelu/package.nix` (version 0.75.2).
2. **The Module**: `services.jelu`, including systemd hardening, database initialization, and fixes for Qt WebEngine/Calibre headless environments.
3. **The Test**: A NixOS VM test (`nixosTests.jelu`) verifying service startup, port reachability, and database creation.
**Note on Source:**
I am currently packaging the upstream binary release (`.jar`). The upstream project uses a complex build process involving both Gradle and NPM (for the frontend) which is difficult to replicate in a pure offline Nix build environment at this stage. I have marked the package with `sourceProvenance = [ binaryBytecode ]`.
**Note:** I've never contributed to a module addition before, so feel free to point out any flaws and advise me on how to make it better. Thanks for the understanding. :)

master ← Mistyttm:add-tdarr
opened 11:40AM - 11 Feb 26 UTC
Following a bunch of testing and development in https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs… /pull/482166, I determined that that PR had far exceeded the scope of what a nixpkgs PR should be. On top of that, I made a decision to split the original package up into two sub packages that can be called individually as `pkgs.tdarr.node` and `pkgs.tdarr-server`. They can also both be installed together with the meta package `pkgs.tdarr`. On top of this I have also included a scope to allow for the packages to be installed from the `tdarrPackages` scope. It's my first time attempting to make a scoped package set like this, but due to the nature of Tdarr I felt I should give it an attempt.
Like the previous version, there is setup for the package to be used on all architectures, I just have no way to actually test it. Both packages also have custom update scripts to allow for much much easier maintenance of so many different binaries. Another improvement, is that since these are now separate derivations, I was able to simplify how sources were pulled and extracted. This makes it far easier for versions and sources to be over-written using overlays, and I hope follows nix conventions much better. Overall this is a much more maintainable version of this piece of software.
I have the module primed and ready to go with a PR immediately after this one gets accepted.
