Hello,
At work, I have a need to VPN to many different countries and my co-workers are using VyprVPN for this task. However, VyprVPN is not packaged for NixOS, and back when I was using Arch, VyprVPN never really worked well with Linux. So I’m looking for an alternative solution, anyone here uses a VPN service? What would you recommend?
Thanks!
VyprVPN supports the OpenVPN protocol and openvpn is packaged so you should have no problem using that.
They do not officially supports it, do they? Last I checked, I had to get ovpn files that I found somewhere online and they were not working properly. All mentions of ovpn on VyprVPN documentation leads to a 404
I’ve never used them but according to https://www.goldenfrog.com/vyprvpn/features/vpn-protocols it is supported. In general you should have no issue with any VPN provider that supports the standard protocols. I use NordVPN but using the standard OpenVPN client and not theirs.
I ended up going with https://www.expressvpn.com/, unlike VyprVPN, they officially support and provide OpenVPN configuration files. See my expressVPN config module here.
