Screen power management on NovaCustom/CLEVO v54 with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H

Hi folks,

I’m running NixOS 24.05 with Linux 6.6.46 on NovaCustom laptop v54 which is CLEVO laptop V540TU with INTEL CORE ULTRA 7 155H.

NixOS runs great even with Intel ME disabled. The only problem I have is that the OS is unable to change brightness (not a big deal) and unable to turn the screen off and on again (that is a problem). It means that the screen never goes off including in sleep. In other words, suspend works but the screen stays on ;-).

Can anybody please advise if there is a way how to fix it? The only thing I haven’t tried yet is to upgrade the kernel since I’m using ZFS and I think I can’t go beyond 6.6.

Hi, martin. I would recommend asking for help with a single issue in a thread, describing what you looked into, what you tried, what you read, what’s the expected behavior and what’s the actual behavior.

I have a single issue - screen can’t be turned off.

Did you search the web for this issue unrelated to NixOS?
