When I have sound playing and shut off my laptop lid, then open it again, the sound comes out all garbled and corrupted. Effects that have happened so far:
- Distortion
- LOUD beeps (that bypass volume controls)
- Distortion AND loud beeps
Has anyone encountered this before? Has this been fixed somewhere?
(NOTE: This issue happens on the NixOS installer image. I am not sure if properly installing NixOS fixes this issue due to hardware-configuration.nix or whatever, but I thought this was worth mentioning)

my experience with all the live linux distros outh there was kinda cooked like for example the machine kept freezing after suspending/waking up (sometimes going into sleep again by itself in a loop, like a power button got stuck), wifi not connecting or having terrible speeds, sound disappearing and much more unpredictable issues overall. after actually installing it i haven’t had any of the problems before. so i think you should install even on a usb whatever you have if you don’t wanna erase your drive just to test nixos as it was a real install ok wish you luck
sure, might try doing that! thatll also let me mess with config.nix and hardware-config.nix so ill hopefully be able to get this fixed.
i’m gonna try to install it to the usb of the installer haha, should be fine because the liveboot copies itself to ram iirc

yeah just ensure it is unmounted after booting to avoid any weird errors during installation
