Hey folks,
I originally joined the moderation team and other governance projects earlier this year in response to the turmoil that we found ourselves in, and that time is now close to being over.
With a lot of time and effort, we’ve managed to define a charter, build a new governance structure, and put nix on track for a healthier long-term community - and ensured that the future is built around and defined by the maintainers of the project.
We’ve mirrored that in the moderation team, ensuring that the wellbeing of maintainers is prioritized in the work that we do (I think with mostly good impact).
I initially thought that this would be a 3-6 month commitment, and… well… it’s taken a little longer, and I have decreasing amounts of time available to give the community - I want to refocus that time on supporting the Steering Committee as part of the constitutional assembly handover, and to be a little more predictable / less interrupt-driven.
On reflection, I think it’s time that alongside @hexa my time on the NixOS Moderation team should come to an end - I’m going to stick around until the 14th January to stagger the handoff to the rest of our the team before formally hanging up my hat.
Thanks,
Danielle
