Doing a “already known” sanity check since I haven’t updated in a while. Current config is here.
Been using wayland for a while now since it “just works” (or did work) for my external monitor needs with my laptop (Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H 5800H 3070m). When I update my kernel from 6_5
to 6_6
then the external display is no longer active/detected under wayland, which I have less experience troubleshooting with.
X still works “fine”, though it is overall wonky-er without switching to using the NVIDIA GPU with a specialisation.
journalctl -f
does not appear to print out any logs if I disconnect and re-connect the display while on the broken kernel version, while on the working 6.5 one GNOME seems to at least react to disconnects.
