With some very nice features hitting Nix recently, I’m eagerly awaiting a new release. Most important for me are:
Does anyone know when a 2.4 release can be expected or what I could do to accelerate this happening?
PS. Go donate to the error messages project. It’s such an important improvement for the ecosystem!

I’m quite confident that Eelco wants to get flakes in, which is blocked on the RFC 49 vote.

Is there a timeline for RFC 49? It would be unfortunate if the other smaller goodies are blocked for somewhat unrelated reasons.

So many months have gone by and still no 2.4 in sight. At this point, it feels like a structural problem that so many features accumulate in a development version for such a long time. I wonder what can be done about it and whether there is a way to help.

This is the 2.4 milestone.
Maybe if those of us with C++ experience go through the list of bugs and fix some issues, we can help @edolstra cut a release?
