Today, we’re excited to welcome @piegames / piegamesde to the Moderation Team. They have graciously volunteered to help uphold the mission of having a safe and welcoming community.
piegames is a Nixpkgs committer and started contributing to Nixpkgs in 2019. Currently, they’re mostly involved in various RFCs (both as author and as shepherd). They help maintain the Gnome extensions in Nixpkgs for which they wrote the initial automatic packaging.
Please help us welcome them to the team!
As a reminder to all:
Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported by contacting the project team at email@example.com. The project team is obligated to maintain confidentiality with regard to the reporter of an incident.
All official team information is available on the Moderation Team website.
That’s awesome, @piegames has my full trust and endorsement!
I split some posts of this topic into their own private thread. The reason I did that is I believe there was a valid concern raised, but it was not raised in a way that is appropriate for a public message in our community. If someone wants to be added to that thread and see the concerns, they can message me and I’ll add them.
If you have a concern about a moderator, we really want to hear about it, so please message the whole moderation team at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you want to post it publicly, please make a new thread and do you best to be polite about it.
Well, then. To make good on my (respectful) co-challenge: Congratulations for your accession to the team!
I wish you the best of hands, to help overcome some of the mod team’s long standing transparency challenges and help regain the trust of the whole community as an integrating and inclusive organ.
