Wine: An error occured while downloading the file VC_redist.x64.exe

I’m trying to run an .exe through wine.

Wine wants to download VC_redist.x64.exe but it’s not working.

The system is on the latest nixos unstable, swaywm

Could you point me in the right direction?

Have you tried installing vcrun2022 via winetricks and then restart the installer of your app?

The installer still tries to download the VC-redist* file? Note that I have never tried your specific app. I have seen your error message and thought, installing via winetricks could help.

Not a wine user, but what if you download the VC_redist.x64.exe file directly and then first run wine on that? I also notice it at least seems like the error you are getting is an error that “Zebra_Aurora_Focus_app - InstallShield Wizard” is throwing, not one that wine itself is throwing.

I’m now a few screen further, but they’re all white. I first have to fix the gui, then I can continue even further.
