Hi all, the sixth round of the Zürich ZHF hackathon is taking place, this time preparing for the release of NixOS 25.05 Warbler! ! Once again we will meet on the last full weekend of May at the OST right next to Lake Zürich.
This is a great opportunity to learn Nix, squash bugs together, get to know each other, discuss current events, and make plans for the future. Check the reports from past events to get an idea for what it’s like:

We’ll start with a brief round of lightning talks to set the mood and bring you up to date, and then get to hacking.
For more information, visit the Zurich Nix user group website. There, you can find links to sign up on Meetup so we can plan accordingly for snacks and drinks. Contact the organisers on the Matrix channel if you have any questions.
Bring a friend – you’ll get a T-shirt.
You may have noticed that the NixOS ZHF hackathon takes place at the same location as the upcoming ZuriHac 2025 (June 7-9) and NixCon 2025 (September 5-7), and indeed all events are co-organised by roughly the same group of strongly typed, purely functional people. Whether you want to get involved at the frontier of developing the Nix ecosystem or simply mingle with Nix nerds from all over Europe (and often beyond), this is the place to be. Along with from Darmstadt, Munich, New York, and Lanzarote, these days Zurich regularly has the world’s highest density of Nix ecosystem maintainers and long-term contributors.
See you there!
