Hello everyone,
If you don’t know about it yet, NixCon is a yearly conference and a space for learning, collaboration, and connecting with the community, whether you’re a seasoned Nix user or just starting your journey.
In the past couple weeks, a team to organise NixCon 2025 has come together and can now finally announce the official time and place:
- When: Fri-Sun, 5-7 September 2025
- Where: OST in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland
This year we will theme NixCon around “bridge-building”, to emphasize the importance of fostering connections and collaboration among our diverse community. We wish to create an inclusive and welcoming environment in which we can celebrate everyone’s unique strengths and contributions, no matter their background or status. And what better place to build bridges than Switzerland, where neutrality is so valued that even the fondue pot does not take sides. 
There’s still a lot to do, but we wanted to share the news early so you can start planning.
What’s still taking shape?
- The new website and logo are still under construction
- CFP, tickets, and schedule are to be published on the website when it’s ready
- We’re planning to allow sponsorships again this year, details to be confirmed by the SC and board
- We’re figuring out how to make the event as affordable as possible for our attendees. Please reach out to us if you think you need a personal stipend.
If you’d like to help out with organisation, get in touch on Matrix or join one of our regular open meetings (see the official calendar). We’d be especially happy to get more volunteers to help with on-site preparation, website design, AV, etc.
