Hey folks, I’m seeking your guidance here on the below PR.
I’ve had it open and reviewed/approved by key individuals for quite a while, and as far as I can tell the checks are passing.
What I’m unclear on is the general nixpkgs PR acceptance / timing process.
Just looking to understand better, and learn if/how I should approach getting this closed beyond what I’ve already done.
There isn’t one, it just comes down to one of the committers knowing about and caring enough about the PR to review and possibly merge it. Sometimes people post in PRs in distress or matrix but that’s about all you can really do as a contributor.
Who are the committers? I imagine that’s a group of core maintainers of nixpkgs itself?
Not looking to harass them, just curious how it works, like how many ppl there are who do so and what their approach is/probably-is to discovering open-ready PR’s?
I found this helpful last month: YSK: Guide on getting your PR merged. I found that being polite, and rotating 1/week between discourse “PR in distress”/matrix PR channel could help get attention in a non-hostile way.
(yes I’ve been through this document before, but it’s hefty enough that it’s easy for the mind to blank a section twelve months later while learning everything else about Nix ecosystem on top)
