Dear Nix and NixOS enthusiasts,
As @RaitoBezarius and @delroth previously mentioned, we are thrilled to announce that, for the second consecutive year, we have secured a NixOS and Nix developer room at FOSDEM, and this time, there’s an exciting new addition - a stand dedicated to Nix and NixOS! This stand is a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with the community, spread the word about our beloved ecosystem, and showcase the unique features and benefits of Nix and NixOS.
What’s New?
Our stand has been officially accepted, and we are excited to participate in FOSDEM 2024! This presents an excellent chance to connect with fellow FLOSS enthusiasts, share our passion for Nix and NixOS, distribute some cool swag, and hype our devroom to a broader audience.
Call for Standees
To make our presence at FOSDEM 2024 a resounding success, we need enthusiastic folks ready to stand up for the Nix and NixOS community. If you are planning to attend FOSDEM and are passionate about the ways of Nix and NixOS, please volunteer for a shift at our stand!
What does volunteering entail?
As a “standee” or stand volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:
Talk About Nix and NixOS: Engage with fellow attendees, share experiences, and discuss the unique features and advantages of Nix and NixOS.
Hand Out Swag: Who doesn’t love stickers?
Pitch the Devroom: Encourage attendees to explore our developer room, where in-depth discussions, presentations, and workshops on Nix and NixOS will occur.
As we know, the Nix and NixOS ecosystems are vast and handle various needs. The stands are organized by category, and this year, we will be among other distros in the ‘Operating System’ category. It will be neat to see if or how that affects who visits the stand.
How to volunteer?
It’s easy! Sign up for a shift here.
Choose a time slot for you, merge the cells, and write in your name.
When the time comes, be present at the stand in building ‘AW’ and be prepared to immerse yourself in the exciting world of Nix and NixOS advocacy.
